What Is Included in Curb Weight?
All of the standard equipment that came with the car will be included with the curb weight. That means if you have installed something or modified the included parts, you would need to exclude it manually.
Furthermore, curb weight does not include any passengers.
Is Curb Weight the Same as Unladen Weight?
Unladen weight means the unloaded weight of the vehicle. As it does not include any extra accessories or passengers, it is sometimes referred to as the curb weight.
However, you can not refer to curb weight to unladen weight because that includes the entire engine, fluids, tanks, and generators.
Does Curb Weight Include Fuel?
The curb weight is basically the weight that the manufacturer terms as standard weight. That means it will not include cargo, passengers, vehicle accessories, nor will it contain any fuel.
It can neither include any fluids. The unladen weight, however, will have the fluids and fuels.

No, the curb weight does not include passengers. It states the weight of the vehicle at the state where it comes out of the manufacturing process.
That is why many refer to the weight as standard weight. The curb weight will not include any liquid, fluid, or additional accessories either.

Depending on the size of the engine, bed, and engine, the curb weight will be from 4069 pounds to 5697 pounds. The trim options, on the other hand, will have a broader weight spectrum.
On that note, the Raptor series of the vehicle will have the topmost position in terms of weight. For example, they will be around 5697 pounds.

How to Find the Curb Weight of Ford F150?
You might not have access to a weighing machine like me. Does that mean that you will not be capable of determining the vehicle’s curb weight?
Not really! Check the trim level and year of your truck. Then do a quick google search and include “standard weight” in the keywords.
You will find the manufacture rated standard weight of the vehicle. And that is the curb weight of the truck.
Apart from that, it will be possible to figure out the curb weight by considering the GVWR of the Ford F150. Take that into consideration and deduct the payload or cargo capacity.
The number you will end up with will be the curb weight of your truck.
What Is GVWR?
The term GVWR is the short form of Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. It offers information regarding how much of a weight the vehicle can handle safely.
In other words, if the Gross weight exceeds the number stated by the manufacturer, it will be over the payload capacity.
To illustrate, the GVWR of a specific vehicle might be around 7000 pounds. For that particular vehicle, the curb weight will be about 5000 pounds.

The rating would include everything inside and with the car.
Also, if the GVWR of a particular vehicle is 8000 pounds, it will mean that you can not make the load of the car exceed more than 8000 pounds.
Excess payload will not be safe, and the vehicle might not operate optimally after exceeding the GVWR rating.
Is GVWR the Same As Dry Weight?
Just like the name suggests, dry weight refers to the vehicle’s weight without any fluid or fuel inside it. In other words, if you weigh the vehicle by keeping the coolant tank and fuel tank empty, it will be considered as dry weight.
GVWR includes fuel and fluids. In fact, it includes everything. For that reason, you can not mix up dry weight as the rated GVWR weight.
Does GVWR Include Payload?
The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating includes the maximum weight a specific vehicle can carry or withstand. That includes everything, including the fluid, tank, and payload.
So, the answer to the question of does GVWR includes payload would be a yes.
Does GVWR Include Passengers?
Let me reiterate what GVWR means in case you have forgotten it by now. It stands for the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. That rating states how much amount of load the vehicle is capable of safely taking.
So, it also includes passengers, payload, and anything that is included with or inside the vehicle.
What Is the GVWR of a Ford F150?
At this point, you might be wondering what the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating for Ford F150 is, right?
Well, let me get into that without further wasting your time. The minimum rating of F150 is at 6070 pounds, while the maximum load is up to 7850.
If you consider the curb weight, you would be left with 2001 pounds to 2153 pounds of room. Usually, with fuel and passengers inside, the total extra heft would be 500 pounds.
That leaves a payload weight room of 1501 pounds to 1653 pounds. You can use that extra weight capacity to carry other stuff inside too.
How to Find the GVWR of Ford F150?
Finding out the GVWR of the Ford F150 is as easy as finding the curb weight. And there are two ways. Firstly, you can take a look at the sticker that is on the door.
It should be somewhere on the frame. Check the “GVWR” or Gross Vehicle Weight Rating section on the sticker.
Secondly, you can take the vehicle’s curb weight and then add the payload or cargo capacity. After the addition, you should end up with a number, which will match the GVWR.
Curb Weight Vs. GVWR – What’s the difference?
There are a couple of things that separates both the curb weight and GVWR of a vehicle. Want to know about them? Well, let me specifically point them out:
Included Weight: GVWR includes everything. It counts the passengers, fuel tank, fuel, coolant tank, and coolant. But curb weight includes the basic stuff only.
It will include only the weight of the car. However, it will add the original parts to the equation. There will be no inclusion of fuel, passengers, and other parts.
What They State: Even though curb weight is a number, it is not a limit to anything. In comparison, the GVWR states a limit. The limit is the weight the car can not cross if the driver wants to safely handle the vehicle.
In other words, you do not need to consider the curb weight if you want to drive the vehicle safely. But the GVWR is essential if you do not want to drive the car in an unstable way.
How Much Does a Ford F150 Weigh in Tons?
As I have stated above, the vehicle’s curb weight will be from 4069 pounds to 5697 pounds depending on the model. If you consider the curb weight, it will be from 2.03 tons to 2.85 tons.
This weight is comparatively low because compared with other full-sized trucks, they will be from 5770 to 6000 pounds. That will be from 2.9 tons to 3 tons of weight.
And even the model that weighs the most does not have any sacrifices in terms of performance due to the weight. Now, that is something that not all pickup trucks can offer.
On the other hand, if you consider the GVWR, it will be from 3.04 tons to 3.93 tons. Please do consider that I am stating all of the numbers in the U.S tons standard. It might vary if you compare it with the other measures.
